Gentle, almost warm breezes slide across me in the drivers seat and miss the top of my dog’s head. It is almost summer here in Texas and I can’t help but think about how I was here almost 3 years ago, thinking about everything to unravel post-college, spending the summer before real work and the world kicked in.

The landscape looks surprisingly similar, I remember it from my last drives around Waco in May 2023, it felt as if the road was welcoming with open arms and gently pushing me along the current of what was the 45. The south feels grounding to me, and Texas especially. I met many of my dearest friends here, and the sun felt predictable.

Now I return carrying cameras, instead of carrying uncertainty.
